Whats the best way to learn how to build PIC Microprocessor projects?

Q) I want to start learning PIC design. I am a comptetant programmer, experience of 8086 assembler, I have a very (VERY) basic understanding of electronics. Cheapest / easiest way to learn? Resources?

A) I realise you are interested in the PIC, but have you considered the Atmel AVR? The nice thing about the AVR is that Atmel give away a nice development environment (being able to step through code and see the state of various registers/outputs is great). There is also a free C compiler (GCC) which will make life more fun (given that writing C is quicker and less error prone than assembler). Whichever, buy a decent development board (so you can experiment rather than having to worry about the electronics side of things) and you should be fine. The PIC has a very small instruction set and if you know 8086, then PIC assembler will see easy!

is there someone who can give me an idea of a proposals for my project design in electronics using pic?

Q) i need a proposal for my project design subject using PIC microcontrollers, a proposal that is not yet produce in the market. well, it's kinda like a new inventions something unique. TY

A) no one can give u idea. u have to use ur mind. however u can gain knowledge/trainning related to this.
